Iberostar paraiso maya entertainment11/13/2023 The staff member was able to schedule appointments for early afternoon. When the problem was presented, with urgency, then we were told "you can come to the desk at 7am and schedule your test for the same afternoon with results coming to your email by/after 6pm,same night." As instructed, we made It to the desk at 7am. When we attempted to schedule our COVID19 testing initially, we were told "you can only schedule test from 9am to 5pm." The issue is most excursions leave the resort prior to 9am. Our group of 13, made our reservations prior to July 1, 2021. If you are into wildlife in the jungles of Mexico this resort will give you a large sampling of animals, including the "poolside food snatches." The majority of our issues came in the inconsistencies of information regarding how the resort schedules COVID19 testing and golf cart availability. Most of my concerns about vacationing in Mexico never happened and I would definitely recommend staying at the Iberostar Paraíso Beach. All in all I was impressed with Iberostar and this resort. One issue I was a little bothered by was that the lights in the common areas of our building were turned off during the night so when we left our room at 6AM to go on an excursion we had to use our flashlights on our phones to navigate the stairs. Only time the line got long at the swim up bar was when someone ordered 6 Mojitos. Yes drinks were probably not top shelf but what would you expect. There were shows nightly, Latin show, Mexican Show, Karaoke, etc. Make sure you have all of your passports when you make your Covid test reservation and when you get tested. Make your reservations and your Covid test when you check in. ![]() The Covid test was free I believe because we stayed 5 nights. When you make your reservation make sure the receipt they give you is for the right restaurant and has the right number of people. Staying 5 nights they provided 2 reservations for the specialty restaurants. And they often served hamburgers, hot dogs and a seafood stir fry between the 2 swim up bars. Lunch was served at 2 restaurants between the end of the pool and the beach. Breakfast was served at the buffet near the lobby. Our balcony overlooked the lazy river so the pool was about 20 feet from our building. If you leave a little extra for the cleaning staff (which came everyday) they will give you extra. The mini fridge had a couple Cokes, tonic water, Do suckies beer and a weird Coke. Ours didn't work so I went next door and got ice there. From what I determined each 3 story building had a water dispenser on each floor and an ice maker on the middle floor. They discourage plastic bottles so they provide 2 large glass water containers in the room. It wasn't 64 in our room but it was comfortable. Communicating through Google Translate I was able to explain what I called about and he cleaned the AC and even lowered our thermostat (22/72 to 18/64). I called the front desk and unlike some of the negative reviews I had read a maintenance man was there within an hour. On entering our room I noticed a musty smell, like the air conditioner had standing water. My daughter had left out a candy bar which attracted ants so don't leave out food. There is a shuttle service (a guy with a golf cart) that runs the lanth of the resort which is supposed to run every 10 to 15 minutes but occasionally the cart was full. It took me 7 minutes to walk from the buffet to our room and depending on which way you took you should be able to walk from the lobby to the beach in about 10 minutes. Our rooms were a little farther than the halfway point between the lobby and the beach. First off this is a large (long) resort which is part of a larger Iberostar resort complex. Yes they will try to get you to attend a timeshare sales meeting and changing reservations was not always possible but if you know this going in you won't be disappointed. From the time we stepped out of our shuttle until the time we left everyone was friendly and helpful. My 4 star rating (wish I could give them 4.9 stars) was not just based off of appearance or amenities but the overall all inclusive resort. We were very happy with our experience there. ![]() I spent a good amount of time researching resorts on the Yucatan peninsula and chose Iberostar Paraíso Beach based of reviews, cost and location, in that order. My wife and I took our daughter and 19 year old niece on vacation to celebrate our daughter's high school graduation.
